Overview

The lemon twin-screw extruder is a screw-driven extrusion machine that utilizes the gradual reduction in the volume of the bipolar screw cavity to compress the material. This machine is suitable for juicing crushed fruits and vegetables, offering a high juice yield.

Twin Screw Extruder is also suitable for juicing crushed pectin fruits such as pineapple, apple, and pear.

Working Principle: The crushed pulp, juice, and peel enter the twin-screw juicer through the feed hopper. As the screw diameter gradually increases and the pitch gradually decreases along the direction of the residue outlet, the material is compressed by the screw as it is propelled. The rotation direction of the screw shaft is counterclockwise when viewed from the feed hopper towards the residue trough. Raw materials are added to the feed hopper and compressed under the propulsion of the screw. The extracted juice flows through a filter screen into the juice container at the bottom, while waste is discharged through the annular gap formed between the screw and the pressure-regulating conical section. The axial movement of the pressure-regulating head is directly controlled by the hydraulic system. Adjusting the pressure of the hydraulic system, i.e., adjusting the resistance to slag discharge, can change the juice yield. However, if the hydraulic system pressure is too high, under strong extrusion, some slag particles will be squeezed out along with the juice through the filter screen. Although the juice yield increases, the quality of the juice decreases relatively. The hydraulic system pressure should be determined according to the user’s specific process requirements. This achieves the purpose of automatic separation of juice and slag.

Installation, Operation, and Maintenance

  1. The machine must be installed horizontally and secured with anchor bolts.
  2. Tighten all bolts on the machine. Clean the entire machine inside and out, keeping it clean.
  3. Before connecting the drive motor power, adjust the hydraulic system pressure to the minimum.
  4. Connect the drive motor power and confirm that the machine’s rotation direction is consistent with the direction indicator.
  5. Run the machine for 5 minutes to confirm that everything is normal before feeding.
  6. Feeding must be uniform. Hard foreign objects must not enter the hopper to avoid damaging the screen.
  7. After feeding, gradually increase the hydraulic system pressure. Once the juice yield reaches the process requirements, stop adjusting.
  8. To stop the machine, simply disconnect the motor power.
  9. After each shift, wash the filter screen with water and a brush. If filtering juices with a lot of fiber, add an extra screen wash as needed. After pressing, rinse the entire machine with hot water.
  10. Regularly check if the motor is overheating due to overload and if the bearings need lubrication.
